Pegs, pegs and more pegs...

.... and pretty pegs too!

Another idea that has been bouncing around in my head - & seeing a bit of  a trend for painted pegs in scrapbooking and card making - I thought I 'needed' some JOFY pegs!

These are just normal wood pegs (maybe a little bit smaller than some available 1x8.5cm) that I bought in Sainsburys (other supermarkets are available lol)
I like these because they have bit of detail on them - 2 lines carved in...

I painted them all in Fresco Finish JOFY Limited Edition paints - no need to prime the wood - nice and easy. Then I added pattern and detail with stamped designs (again with JOFY paints).

On paper: JM34
On cardboard, top row, left to right: JM16, all other pegs are JOFY10
On cardboard, bottom row, left to right:  book text (couldn't resist!), JOFY24, JOFY14, EEV06 (love little spots!)

I could use them to hold notes together, or on a 12x12 scrapbook page, or I could attach them to an indoor 'washing line' and hang sketches, tags and other interesting bits and bobs.

Enjoy your weekend.

What weekends are made for...

... an evening with friends - one of those evenings where you laugh so much your stomach muscles ache, your throat hurts and in the end you have no make-up left on because you've cried with laughter..
We started off at the Blackfriar pub - I've always wanted to go in here to see the interior - & it didn't disappoint - I wish I could've taken photos. I hadn't noticed until I looked at this photo how all the building around it have gone... but its still standing! Fantastic.
I hadn't seen several of the friends in a long time - too long - missed them - great evening.

... a fun day teaching a workshop - at Its Crafting Time - where between us we built a terrace of houses - Balamory has nothing compared to these lovely JOFY houses:

... a day in the garden - tidying up, buying and planting new plants - LOVE lupins - mini towers of colour... this is my current favourite part of the garden:

... time spent with Family - nephews birthday - I made a card for him - boys/mens cards are hard aren't they? (or is that just me!) (must challenge myself) - this one was created thanks in part to the PaperArtsy brayer masterboard video that was on the blog earlier this month.

... all that, and there's still today!  Gotta love a Bank Holiday weekend!

Hope yours is good...

Yesterday was a GOOD day!

A good day for many reasons including..
* It was beautifully sunny
* The roadworks on the M25 were finished - no more crawling along in traffic at 50 miles an hour!!  (yes I am that easily pleased)

* but most of all, after a break of NINE WEEKS!, I taught a class - and that makes me happy!

I was at The Craft Barn to teach a card & tag class - using all things JOFY & PaparArtsy - to a lovely group of ladies... paint, ink, stamps, stencils, grunge paste - we used them all!

(nb: the tag looks small - its actually big - 10.5x21.5cm, size 10)

We used stamp set JOFY23 which has flowers and a vase - yes, its a vase (sometimes mistaken for (and used as) a dress - which I can understand lol)...
The vase is quite tall and when filled with flowers is even taller, so a tall card is needed such as this DL sized card (10x21cm) below.
This card was created using lots of scraps of scrapbook paper - LOVE using scraps and papers this way.

Don't worry if tall cards aren't your 'thing' - here's a quick card I made during yesterday's class showing that the vase could be made smaller & used on a smaller card (13.5x13.5cm:
All I did was cut off about 2-3 cm off the bottom and draw a couple of lines across - similar to the ones that are used on the image.
... the photo doesn't really show how much smaller the vase is so here's the 3 versions together...

It was a lovely day at The Craft Barn - that has some very nice new products (couldn't resist some new sprays and paper pads) - go check out their website where you will also find details of the annual Extravaganza!!

I'll be there on Sunday demo'ing all things JOFY/PaperArtsy.. hope you can come along - its a fabulous crafty inspirational weekend.
I'm looking forward to it very much - its good fun!

Masterboard, masterboard & ....

.... a bit more masterboard!

I found the last of the masterboard - & I mean it this time this is the last of the materboard.... no, really it is!

At the last count up I'd made:
2 12x12 scrapbook/journal pages
5 cards
1 canvas panel

... and now I can add 1 more card - 13.5x13.5cm - a really simple card. ('you are bloomin' marvellous' is from JOFY10)

and 6 mini tags (5x8cm) & 1 standard size tag (6x11.5cm) (Papermania)..
The tags used up all the fiddly twiddly bits that are left over when you cut up bigger pieces.. & I had previously cut a piece of masterboard into 1inch squares with intention to create a 'tiled' piece but changed my mind and used them on these tags instead.  I like having little tags on big tags - these ones images are from JOFY23.
The purple resin flower on the top left tag was painted in JOFY Amethyst Fresco Finish- this paint is great for changing the colour of resin embellishments to match projects because it is suitable for all surfaces.
On other tags I stamped simple images on masterboard pieces and carrying the designs onto the tag - hilighting with Chalk paint and white gel pen (love white pens!)

All the masterboard has been used... nothing left.. zilch! - & I mean it this time!

xx
