#365Challenge.... January: Part 2

It feels like I'm still playing catch-up after my computer crash late last year which meant that I wasn't able to blog as often/easily as normal.  Each year I change the header on my blog and I wasn't able to do that but hopefully I'll rectify that soon... and post the 'backlog' of 'things'...  aaaw rats! one of my New Years resolutions is to use the words 'stuff' and 'things' less...  oops..  Did you make any resolutions for 2017?  Any fun ones?  I think a checklist of 'things to do in 2017' would be a fun list to draw up - it'd give the year focus wouldn't it? It wouldn't have to be huge monumental events or goals, maybe just quirky little things - trips, or lessons/courses....  I'll leave that with you to ponder..

In the meantime here are more pages/cards from my #365Challenge....

I must admit I'm not making much impact on the stash but I am having fun and its great to use my new JOFY stamps and stencils on journaling cards...

Just to remind you my self imposed 'rules' for the 365Challenge are:
1. Answer the questions
2. Use only supplies I have in my possession... attacking the stash as ever!
3. Make a card each day
4. HAVE FUN!!

Our house....

... over at PaperArtsy this evening I have a blog post featuring 'paper piecing' - click on the photo below to go there...

After I'd finished making this project (using JOFY29) I had some bits and pieces left over (I always seem to make more than I need - I like to have choice!) and so not wanting to see them go to waste I created another little project..

This time its a simple card starting with stamping images in black onto a white card base to form a background:

.. and these are (some of) the leftovers:

Here is the finished card....
the eagle-eyed of you may notice I've replaced a couple of green branches with book text - and that's because the overall look was too 'green' - using the booktext neutralised it a little bit.

I love how this card looks - and how my houses look when they're stamped onto patterned paper.

I kept looking at this card and it reminded me on something.... maybe something way back had inspired me......

(I am a child growing up in England in the 1970/80s).  I like how Paddington is the only coloured (dimensional) element and everything else is flat/sketched..
(not that I am in any way shape or form comparing my stamps to the charm of the Paddington illustrations!)

Kids tv back when I was growing up was GENIUS!! but I suppose all generations think that don't they... I am a child of the Blue Peter generation!  (bring on the sticky back plastic!) (my husband even has a Blue Peter badge! (its not why I married him, obviously!))

Have fun with paper piecing - and don't forget to head over to the PaperArtsy blog to see what myself and all the other contributors have created for this theme.

JOFY Street...

... is made up of houses made by 'TeamJOFY' for the recent new stamp launch... I thought I'd share a few photos with you ..

This is one of two house panels I created - I wanted to show how the houses can be shortened - the green house on the left has been cut across just above the word 'bricks' and reattached just under the scallop roof line - virtually seemless!  The house can also be 'remodelled' by cutting a panel out - removing the centre 'floor' (cut just below and just above the windows).

I varied the height of the trees in the same way.

The houses are painted in Jade and Southern Skies - tone on tone.  The roof of each house is painted Slate - obviously! lol

Helen Chilton created this house against a stunning sunset - who wouldn't want to live there!

Kay Carley created this fabulous dimension card:
I love how she incorporated the tools (JM43) into the street scene.

Kay will be teaching this card as part of a class at The Craft Barn on 31st May - contact the shop or visit their website for more details.

So there it is - JoFY Street - the sun is always shining, the trees are green and life is good! :o)
