I have been doing stuff - honest guv! but not so much as I've had to take things a lot easier in the past couple of weeks - I'd overdone it a bit which took its toll on my health and I needed to step back (and even cancelled work which I hate doing, but sometimes has to be done). So now I'm feeling better - still not 100% but definitely getting there.
Leigh Art Trail is over now and so I'm venturing in to the studio - today is spring clean day for my area (nothing too strenuous! lol)- it needs a bit of an overhaul/ tidy-up / clear out... rumour has it that the BoxMen in a unit a couple of doors down are throwing out a load of peg board - I've been thinking for while that pegboard is just what my area needs! perfect for hanging 'stuff' onto...... (for those of you that may be saying 'what the hell is peg board?!' its hardboard with lots of holes drilled into it in a grid pattern - great for hanging tools'n'bits on with a nail or two)
Would you like a pretty picture to end this post?
This is one of my first dabbles with Tyvek. Its a paper-like fabric (stuff Fed-Ex envelopes are made from) that is fairly indestructable that is until you heat it! You can paint on it, dye it, stamp on it etc etc etc which is all very nice but then if you heat it (iron it, heat tool it etc) it warps and bubbles and ends up looking like this, and then you can sew beads and bits on. How much fun is that!
This piece started off A6 size (postcard-ish) and I sprayed it with Glimmer Mists, and once heated added silver ink highlights, and sewed on some beads) Not bad for a first attempt!
